The DV lottery photo requirement
The Diversity Visa entry form accepts one digital photo format and rejects everything else: an exact square of 600 × 600 pixels, JPEG, 240 KB or smaller, in color. The photo must have been taken within the last 6 months against a plain white or off-white background; the head should take up between 50% and 69% of the image height; glasses are not allowed. Two mistakes disqualify more entries than anything else: reusing a photo from a previous year (it must be recent — consular officers compare), and uploading a picture that was resized by a chat app into something smaller than 600 pixels, then stretched.
