ToolGale

Privacy

Last updated 23 September 2026

Your photos are processed only in your browser and are never uploaded. ToolGale sets no cookies and runs no analytics, ads or tracking. The site's host, GitHub Pages, logs visitors' IP addresses for security.

Your photos

Every tool works on your own device: the photo is opened, cropped, resized and compressed by JavaScript in your browser, and the result is saved straight to your device. Photos are never uploaded, stored or seen by ToolGale — there is no server that receives them. Once a page has loaded, its tool keeps working offline. The one extra download is the optional HEIC converter: if your browser cannot open an iPhone HEIC photo by itself, it fetches the converter from toolgale.top, and the conversion still happens on your device.

If you tap Save / share, your device's own share menu passes the finished file to the app you choose; that app's privacy rules then apply.

Hosting: GitHub Pages

ToolGale is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc. Like any web server, it receives your IP address when your browser requests a page, and GitHub states that "when a GitHub Pages site is visited, the visitor's IP address is logged and stored for security purposes" (GitHub Pages documentation — Data collection). GitHub processes these logs under the GitHub General Privacy Statement. This hosting is needed to deliver the site securely (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). ToolGale adds no logging or analytics of its own.

Contact through GitHub issues

Bug reports and suggestions go through the toolgale-feedback issues on GitHub. Issues are public: what you write, and your GitHub username, can be read by everyone. Do not post personal data or a photo of yourself or of a document — a description of the problem is enough. Opening an issue needs a GitHub account, which GitHub handles under its own privacy statement. If you want an issue you opened removed, say so in the issue and it will be deleted.

Who runs ToolGale

ToolGale is run by an independent developer and is not affiliated with any government agency. The way to reach the developer is the GitHub issues link on the contact page.

Your rights

ToolGale keeps no accounts, database or logs of its own, so apart from what you post in a GitHub issue it holds no personal data about you to access, correct or erase. You can edit or delete your own issue comments on GitHub at any time. Under the GDPR you also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU country where you live or work.

Changes

There are no ads or analytics today. If either is ever added, this page will be updated before it goes live, with the new date above.
